Casio has done a great job growing the G Shock line without going overboard. Although they've done a number of collaborations in the last year they've also introduced new product and better technology. I recently attended their annual "Shock the World" party in New York and got to preview some of the newest models. One that really stood out was the new G7900 "G-Rescue."
The watch has an enormous case and a bezel held down by four large screws (the older G Rescue didn't have this). The look is absolutely menacing. From a functionality standpoint it can withstand temperatures down to -4 degrees F. The buttons are also larger so you can operate easier when wearing gloves. Sounds like a perfect ski watch. For everyone else there is a tide and moon graph, stopwatch and multiple time zones.
I'm equally impressed by the retail price, only $99. The G Rescue will be available at my.casio.com in September in black, white and red colorways.
