Lil Wayne Rushed to Hospital After Skateboarding Accident
by: Majorops

This would be pretty easy to hate on but you have to give him points for effort. On Sunday night Wayne was at a skatepark in St. Louis when he cut his head open and had to be rushed to the hospital. Nine stitches later he seems no worse for the wear.

Wayne has been rocking skate shoes for years, but unlike former-label mate Curren$y we never heard of him actually skating until recently. Perhaps his three-year probation means he's got some time to kill while he's not drinking or smoking.

Last month Weezy stopped by Skatepark of Tampa and actually got on a board. Gotta say I'm impressed he can drop in and sort of make his way around a bowl.

We'll catch up with the man himself sometime soon to get his take on all things skate-related and otherwise. Stay tuned.

BNQT MUST LISTEN: SBTRKT
by: Majorops

Interview Magazine just posted a discussion they had with elusive UK producer SBTRKT. They do an excellent job describing what he's all about:

"In an age where practitioners of bass-booming dubstep are a dime a dozen, the challenge to stand out is greater than ever. Meet SBTRKT, a UK producer who (seemingly effortlessly) makes distinct and addictive tracks that feature the vocal stylings of Little Dragon's Yukimi Nagano, Jessie Ware whom you may remember from dubstep producer The Joker's "The Vision." Soul singer Sampha, acts as SBTRKT's partner-in-crime throughout his self-titled debut disc. For those less indie-inclined, you may be pleased to hear that rap's resident emo kid Drake recently recorded an unofficial verse on SBTRKT's "Wildfire," grabbing the attention of hip-hop fans and blog browsers alike. But however you come across the very versatile SBTRKT, one thing's for sure: the London native is a star on the rise, with talent for days and a sound all his own. We spoke to the producer about his anonymity, creative choices, and his strange new music video."

His new self-titled album is rock-solid beginning to end. Check it out on Amazon.

Introducing the Housecooling Party
by: Majorops

Our good friends at Grindstate.com are moving out of their old digs and into a new place. Typically moves are punctuated by the obligatory housewarming party, but these guys chose to look at the situation differently. Why piss off your new neighbors when it's the old ones you don't care about? Why trash your new house, when your old one will quickly become someone elses problem? All valid questions, and all things that led to the invention of the housecooling party.

Helicopters, Drug Deals and Mountain Biking
by: Majorops

Last year news broke about the death of freeride mountain biker Sam Brown. Brown was known for building some of the most progressive trails in British Columbia and had been featured in movies and magazines. A few years ago he faded from the MTB scene leaving fans wondering what happened to the crazy kid from Nelson, BC. As it turns out Sam began trafficking massive amounts of marijuana and cocaine across the US/Canadian border.

DJ Drama X Wyclef
by: Majorops

Fictional revolutionaries? Cyndi Lauper? Wyclef's new mixtape seems like one of the better projects getting pushed out by labels before the end of the year. To kill time between albums 'Clef is teaming up with DJ Drama to release a mixtape called Toussaint St. Jean. Drama has become one of the preeminent mixtape DJs, piecing together unofficial releases for just about every heavy hitter in the game, while Wyclef is indulging his artistic side after selling 31 million records over the years.

New G Shock Releases
by: Majorops

Casio has some new G Shock releases for October. This year they introduced the big-body rescue watches with screw-on bezels. It's a mean look, especially in all black. Taking things a step further they gave their dive watch rose gold hardware. Although the body on that is kind of awkward the idea of precious metals incorporated into watches like these is a cool idea.

Unboxing: Apple Job Offer
by: Majorops

A popular trend among the geek crowd is a ritual known as "unboxing." When a sought after gadget hits the market bloggers clamor to be the first to release short photo essays or videos of themselves taking the product out of the box, showing in painstaking detail things like the packaging, manuals and anything else related to the product and it's packaging. It's sort of like the nerd equivalent of being the first to see a celebrity newborn coming out of the hospital...sort of.
